On or about Tuesday, April 26th, 2022, around 11:30 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer, a pickup truck, and a pedestrian left one individual dead. Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along the Katy Freeway (Interstate 10) in Katy, Texas.
Officials from the Texas Department of Public Safety said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were hit by either a tractor-trailer or a pickup truck in a chain-reaction accident. Authorities did not specify how the chain-reaction may have started off. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead of their injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the incident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 29 miles west of downtown Houston.
Authorities are still examining the cause of the accident.
