On or about Thursday, July 15th, 2021, around 6:19 in the evening, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer left one person dead. Department of Public Safety Troopers said the accident was reported on the eastbound side of Interstate 10 not far from the Purple Heart Memorial Bridge in Jefferson County, Texas.
Texas DPS Troopers said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when the car they were in and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene of the accident. Authorities did not mention any other injuries stemming from the crash.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 10 runs east and west through Jefferson County, with the scene of the accident situated a short distance east of downtown Beaumont.
