On or about Monday, February 28th, 2022, around 9:00 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian left one individual dead. Authorities from the ASP said the accident was reported along Interstate 10 just outside Vail, Arizona.
Officials from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of traffic on I-10. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead of their injuries a short time after the accident. Officials did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, Vail is about 135 miles southeast of downtown Phoenix.
Police are still examining the circumstances surrounding the accident.
