Details:
On or about Monday, January 3rd, 2022, around 10:40 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left one individual dead. Spokespeople from the CHP said the accident was reported along the northbound side of Interstate 15 near the exit for Wildomar Trail in Wildomar, California.
Officials from the California Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the northbound lanes of I-15. Emergency responders pronounced the victim dead of his injuries a short time after the incident, but authorities did not specify if the victim died at the scene or if he was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their report on the incident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 15 cuts north and south through the center of Wildomar, which is about 75 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles.
Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department assisted after the accident.
