On or about Tuesday, September 28th, 2021, around 7:45 in the morning, an accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 42-year-old Groveland man. Troopers from the FHP said the accident occurred on the northbound Interstate 275 ramp near 118th Avenue North in Pinellas, Florida.

Florida Highway Patrol representatives said an as-of-yet unidentified 42-year-old man was killed when the SUV he was driving allegedly struck the back of an SUV that was attempting a U-turn near a construction zone. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the SUV dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured in the accident.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 275 runs north and south through Pinellas County, a short distance north of St. Petersburg.

State and local law enforcement agencies are investigating the accident.
