On or about Friday, April 16th, 2021, around 1:30 in the morning, an accident between an 18-wheeler and a car left one individual dead. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported on Interstate 85 near the exchange with Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway in Atlanta, Georgia.
Officials said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when their car allegedly struck an 18-wheeler when it may have re-entered the lanes of the interstate after a previous attempt to exit. The car was dragged for a distance after the initial accident. Paramedics pronounced one person dead at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, the exchange of Interstate 285 and Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway is a short distance northwest of downtown Atlanta.
Police are still working to determine the cause of the accident.
