Details:
On or about Friday, October 29th, 2021, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car left one individual dead. Troopers from the FHP said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 295 near the exchange with New Kings Road in Jacksonville, Florida.
Representatives from the Florida Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the car they were in allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer on the southbound side of I-295. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the car dead of their injuries after the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 295 winds north and south through Jacksonville, with the scene of the accident situated a short distance northwest of downtown.
State and local officials are examining the cause of the accident.
