Details:
On or about Thursday, December 30th, 2021, around 1:45 in the morning, a major accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Deputies from the Denton County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 35 near the exchange with Business 121 in Lewisville, Texas.
Spokespeople from the Texas Department of Public Safety said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck the back of their car as they were stopped or slowed on I-35. Emergency responders rushed one person in the car to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival. Officials did not mention any injuries from the truck driver.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 35 cuts north and south through Lewisville, which is about 25 miles north of downtown Dallas.
Officials are still investigating the accident.
