On or about Friday, June 24th, 2022, around 2:57 in the morning, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer left one person dead. Authorities from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Interstate 35 near the exchange with Howard Lane in Austin.
Officers from the Austin Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the vehicle they were driving allegedly slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer along I-35. emergency responders pronounced one person in the car dead of their injuries a short time after the accident. Police did not mention any other injuries stemming from the collision.
According to Google Maps, the exchange of Interstate 35 and Howard Lane is on the north side of Austin.
Multiple agencies are investigating the crash.
