On or about Monday, June 21st, 2021, around 1:30 in the morning, an accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer left one individual dead. Deputies from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 385 in Mauldin, South Carolina.

Troopers from the SCHP said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when the SUV they were in and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances on the southbound side of I-385. Emergency responders pronounced one as-of-yet unidentified individual dead of their injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the crash. Officials did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 385 runs north and south along the eastern edge of Mauldin, which is located about 11 miles southeast of downtown Greenville.

State and local law enforcement agencies assisted at the scene of the accident.
