On or about Monday, August 2nd, 2021, around 4:44 in the afternoon, an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer left a 45-year-old man dead. Troopers from the DPS said the accident was reported at the intersection of Lakeside Drive and Interstate 40 service road in Amarillo, Texas.
Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Department said one as-of-yet unidentified 45-year-old man was killed when his GMC pickup truck allegedly collided with a tractor-trailer at the intersection of the I-40 service road and Lakeside Drive. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the pickup truck dead a short time after they arrived at the scene. Police did not mention any other injuries in their preliminary statement.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Interstate 40 and Lakeside Drive is situated on the east side of the city.
Police are still investigating.
