Details:
On or about Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021, around 3:59 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian left one woman dead. Troopers from the ASP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Interstate 40 near the 168 mile marker in Lonoke, Arkansas.
Spokespeople from the Arkansas State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer as she was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the eastbound lanes of I-40. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead of her injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the incident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 40 cuts east and west along the northern edge of Lonoke, which is situated about 26 miles east of downtown Little Rock.
