On or about Wednesday, December 1st, 2021, just before 12:00 midnight, a head-on accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer left a 21-year-old man dead. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Interstate 45 near the exchange with Farm-to-Market 1097 in Montgomery County, Texas.
Investigators said an as-of-yet unidentified 21-year-old man was killed when the Honda Accord they were driving allegedly slammed into a tractor-trailer head-on while driving the wrong direction on Interstate 45. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the Accord dead at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 45 runs north and south through Montgomery County, which is about 41 miles north of downtown Houston.
Officials are still investigating the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
