Details:
On or about Thursday, July 8th, 2021, an accident between a car and a disabled tractor-trailer left one individual dead. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 45 in New Waverly, Texas.
Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when their car allegedly slammed into the back of a disabled truck in the southbound lanes of I-45 near the exchange with Park Road 40. Emergency responders rushed the driver of the car to Huntsville Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 45 runs north and south through the center of New Waverly, which is situated about 55 miles north of downtown Houston.
Police are still investigating the collision.
