Details:
On or about Friday, January 15th, 2021, around 5:13 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car left one person dead and sent another to the hospital. Officers said the accident happened on the southbound side of Interstate 475 in Monroe County, Georgia.
Officials from the area said an as-of-yet unidentified truck driver was killed when his 18-wheeler allegedly struck a car and jackknifed off the southbound side of the roadway. Paramedics pronounced the truck driver dead a short time after the crash, while the driver of the car was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Google Maps shows Interstate 475 runs north and south through the southern part of Monroe County. Monroe County is located about 21 miles northwest of Macon.
Georgia State Highway Patrol is still investigating the incident.
