On or about Thursday, June 30th, 2022, around 3:45 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left a 51-year-old Tacoma resident dead. Spokespeople from the WSP said the accident was reported along Interstate 5 in Kent, Washington.
Representatives from the Washington State Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified 51-year-old man was killed when the vehicle he was in was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer while merging onto Interstate 5 from the shoulder. Emergency responders pronounced the man in the passenger vehicle dead of his injuries after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is not far from Route 516.
