On or about Saturday, December 4th, 2021, around 10:45 at night, a serious accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Troopers from the CHP said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 5 near the exchange with Frazier Mountain Park Road just outside Lebec, California.
Spokespeople from the California Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances while driving down I-5. Emergency responders pronounced at least one individual dead of their injuries following the accident, but police did not specify which vehicle the victim was in at the time of the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 5 runs north and south along the eastern edge of Lebec.
State and local officials are investigating.
