Details:
On or about Friday, January 21st, 2022, sometime before 12:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left one person dead. Authorities from the ISP said the accident was reported along the northbound side of Interstate 55 in Will County, Illinois.
Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the car they were driving allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer that may have been partially on the shoulder and partially in the lane of traffic. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the car dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 43 miles southwest of downtown Chicago.
Officials are still examining the circumstances surrounding the accident.
