On or about Thursday, June 2nd, 2022, around 6:25 in the evening, a serious accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left one person dead. Troopers from the ISP said the accident was reported along Interstate 57 in Matteson, Illinois.
Spokespeople from the Illinois State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the vehicle they were in allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer on the shoulder of Interstate 57. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the vehicle dead of their injuries after the collision. Officials did not mention any other injuries stemming from the crash.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is near the exchange with 183rd Street.
Officials are still looking into the collision.
