Details:
On or about Wednesday, February 16th, 2022, around 3:00 in the afternoon, a hit-and-run accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left one woman dead. Troopers from the NMSP said the accident was reported along Interstate 25 just outside Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Spokespeople from the New Mexico State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified pedestrian was killed when she was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer as she was walking near or made an attempt to cross I-25. After the initial accident, the tractor-trailer fled the scene. Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead of her injuries at the scene of the incident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance east of Santa Fe.
Police are still looking for the truck.
