Details:
On or about Sunday, October 17th, 2021, around 10:23 in the morning, an accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer left one individual dead. Troopers from the OSHP said the accident was reported along the northbound side of Interstate 71 in Jackson Township, Ohio.
Deputies from the Stark County Sheriff’s Office said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when the Ford Escape SUV they were in allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer that was stopped or parked near the west Interstate 270 entrance ramp. Paramedics pronounced one person in the SUV dead of their injuries a short time after the collision. Officials did not mention any other injuries or vehicles in their initial report on the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 71 cuts north and south through Jackson Township, which is situated about 55 miles south of downtown Cleveland.
Police are still examining all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
