On or about Wednesday, June 30th, 2021, around 11:50 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a semi truck left one person dead. Troopers from the NJSP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Interstate 78 in Lamington, New Jersey.

Authorities from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when a tractor-trailer and an 18-wheeler collided under unspecified conditions. After the initial collision, one of the trucks burst into flames. Emergency responders pronounced one person dead at the scene of the accident. Police did not mention any other injuries in their preliminary report on the crash.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 78 runs east and west along the southern edge of Lamington, which is about 33 miles west of Newark.

New Jersey State Police and local officials assisted at the scene of the accident.
