Details:
On or about Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021, a major single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident claimed the life of one individual. Troopers from the SCHP said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 79 in Hampton County, South Carolina.
Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the tractor-trailer they were driving allegedly drove off the southbound side of I-79 and rolled when it struck a barrier a short distance off the pavement. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the tractor-trailer dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 95 runs north and south through the eastern edge of Hampton County, which is about 81 miles west of Charleston.
South Carolina Highway Patrol assisted at the scene.
