On or about Friday, August 20th, 2021, around 11:00 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a disabled RV claimed the life of an 82-year-old North Carolina man. Troopers from the PSP said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Interstate 80 in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.

Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Department said one as-of-yet unidentified 82-year-old North Carolina man was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly slammed into his disabled RV on Interstate 80. Emergency responders pronounced the man dead a short time after the collision. Officials did not mention any other vehicles in their initial report on the accident.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 80 runs east and west through Lackawanna County, which is situated roughly 129 miles north of Philadelphia.

State and local law enforcement agencies assisted at the scene.
