On or about Saturday, May 7th, 2022, sometime in the afternoon hours, a major accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Spokespeople from the PSP said the accident was reported along Interstate 81 in Union Township, Pennsylvania.
Spokespeople from the Pennsylvania State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle collided when the tractor-trailer may have changed lanes into the car. Emergency responders pronounced one person dead of their injuries after the accident, but it not immediately clear if they died at the scene or if they were rushed to a nearby hospital where they died a short time after the collision.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is not far from Exit 85A.
