Details:
On or about Thursday, April 15th, 2021, around 6:03 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian left a 58-year-old man dead. Officials said the accident happened on the eastbound side of Interstate 90 in Winnebago County, Illinois.
Troopers from the ISP said an as-of-yet unidentified 58-year-old man was killed when he was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer as he was walking on or near the roadway. First responders pronounced the pedestrian dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. Authorities did not mention any other vehicles in their statement.
Winnebago County is roughly 93 miles northwest of downtown Chicago, according to Google Maps.
State and local law enforcement are investigating the accident.
