Details:
On or about Thursday, February 18th, 2021, around 8:00 in the evening, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV left a 46-year-old man dead. Officers said the accident happened on the westbound side of Interstate 94 in Lake Forest, Illinois.
Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office said a 46-year-old man was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck his SUV, which was stopped with it’s lights off. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the SUV dead at the scene, while the driver of the 18-wheeler was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries. Police did not mention any other injuries in their preliminary report.
Google Maps shows Lake Forest is about 33 miles north of downtown Chicago.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.
