On or about Thursday, April 29th, 2021, around 12:00 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left one person dead. Deputies from the Henrico County Sheriff’s Department said the accident happened along Interstate 95 near Sliding Hill Road in Ashland, Virginia.
Troopers from the Virginia State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when they were allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer and a car. Police believe the victim may have exited their vehicle after they had sustained a flat tire when they were struck. The tractor-trailer that hit the victim did not stay at the scene of the accident. Emergency responders pronounced the victim dead of their injuries a short time after the accident.
Interstate 95 runs north and south through the center of Ashland, which is nestled about 18 miles north of downtown Richmond, according to Google Maps.
