Details:
On or about Sunday, January 23rd, 2022, around 10:30 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV left one individual dead. Investigators from the FHP said the accident was reported along Interstate 95 in St. Augustine, Florida.
Law enforcement spokespeople said said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the SUV they were in was allegedly struck from behind by a tractor-trailer. After the initial collision, the SUV veered off the side of the road and rolled a short distance off the pavement. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the SUV dead a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 95 runs north and south on the western edge of St. Augustine.
Police are still investigating the accident.
