Details:
On or about Tuesday, February 16th, 2021, an accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer left a 63-year-old Georgia woman dead. Investigators from the FHP said the accident happened on the southbound side of Interstate 95 near State Road 16 in St. Johns County, Florida.
Highway Patrol Troopers said an as-of-yet unidentified 63-year-old woman was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly rear-ended her SUV while they were both headed southbound. Emergency responders rushed the woman to a nearby hospital where she died of her injuries a short time after her arrival. The 46-year-old man driving the tractor-trailer also suffered unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 95 runs north and south through St. Johns County, with the scene of the accident situated just a few miles east of St. Augustine.
Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating.
