Details:
On or about Friday, March 19th, 2021, around 5:20 in the afternoon, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a truck driver. Troopers from the DPS said the accident happened along the Katy Freeway near the exchange with Cane Island Parkway in Fort Bend County, Texas.
Department of Public Safety Troopers said an as-of-yet unidentified truck driver was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly changed lanes and struck a nearby Mini Cooper. After the initial collision, the tractor-trailer veered off the road and burst into flames. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the tractor-trailer dead at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, Fort Bend County is situated a short distance southwest of downtown Houston.
Multiple agencies are investigating the accident.
