On or about Saturday, December 18th, 2021, around 2:45 in the morning, a major accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of one individual. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along the Katy Freeway near the exchange with Central Park West in Houston, Texas.
Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the vehicle they were driving allegedly struck the back of a stopped tractor-trailer on Katy Freeway. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the car dead of their injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident. Authorities did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.
Officials said the driver of the tractor-trailer may have parked in a place where it is not legal to do so in order for the driver to take a rest.
It is not currently clear if there will be citations or charges in connection with the accident.
