On or about Tuesday, September 14th, 2021, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian claimed the life of a 26-year-old man. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Loop 101 near the exchange with Baseline Road in Tempe, Arizona.
Officials said an as-of-yet unidentified 26-year-old man was killed when he was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer while he was walking along or trying to cross Loop 101 near the intersection with Baseline Road in the early morning hours. Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead of his injuries a short time after the accident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their initial statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance south of downtown Phoenix.
Authorities are still examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
