One Killed in Tractor-Trailer Accident at Martin Marietta Sand Pit on CR 2095 near Hardin

On or about Monday, December 13th, 2021, around 10:42 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and the truck driver left one individual dead. Local law enforcement spokespeople said the accident was reported at the Martin Marietta Sand Pit on County Road 2095 just outside Hardin in Liberty County, Texas.

Police officers said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when he allegedly exited his tractor-trailer without setting the air brake and was run over by the 18-wheeler when it began to roll. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the tractor-trailer dead a short time after they responded to the scene of the incident.

According to Google Maps, the Martin Marietta Sand Pit is situated a short distance north of Hardin, which is about 51 miles northeast of downton Houston.

Multiple agencies are working to pin down exactly what led to the incident.
