On or about Monday, June 7th, 2021, around 12:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car left a 34-year-old man dead. Officials from the CHP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Merced Avenue in Wasco, California.
California Highway Patrol said an as-of-yet unidentified 34-year-old man was killed when his car and a tractor-trailer collided under unknown conditions. Police indicated the tractor-trailer may have had a stop sign, while the victim’s car did not. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the car dead a short time after the collision.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Magnolia and Merced Avenues is situated a short distance northwest of downtown Bakersfield.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
