On or about Thursday, May 19th, 2022, around 5:30 in the evening, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left one man dead. Representatives from the VSP said the accident was reported along the Monacan Trail in Albemarle County, Virginia.
Authorities from the Virginia State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the passenger vehicle they were in and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances along the Monacan Trail. Emergency responders pronounced one person in the car dead of their injuries a short time after the collision.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is not far from the exchange with Interstate 64.
Police are still working to pin down exactly what happened in the accident.
