Details:
On or about Monday, June 7th, 2021, around 3:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a motorcycle left one individual dead. Authorities from the MSHP said the accident happened at the intersection of North Monroe Avenue and Gardner Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri.
Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly turned into the path of their motorcycle at the intersection. The motorcycle swerved to avoid the collision and skidded into the path of a nearby pickup truck. Emergency responders rushed the motorcyclist to a nearby hospital where they succumbed to their injuries a short time after their arrival. Authorities did not mention any other injuries stemming from the crash.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of North Monroe Avenue and Gardner Avenue is situated a short distance northeast of downtown Kansas City.
Police are still working to determine the cause of the accident.
