On or about Tuesday, November 9th, 2021, around 10:30 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left one woman dead. Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along North Peace Road in Sycamore, Illinois.
Officials from the Illinois State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified woman was killed when her car allegedly crossed over the center line of the roadway and collided head-on with a tractor-trailer in the oncoming lanes. Paramedics pronounced the woman in the car dead of her injuries after they responded to the scene. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their initial statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, Sycamore is about 68 miles west of downtown Chicago.
Authorities are still looking into all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
