On or about Tuesday, November 9th, 2021, around 7:15 in the morning, an accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer left one individual dead. Authorities from the SCHP said the accident was reported along Old Georgetown Road near the intersection with Burlington Road in Williamsburg County, South Carolina.

Law enforcement spokespeople from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly failed to yield while pulling out of a private driveway off Old Georgetown Road when it struck their SUV. Emergency responders pronounced one person in the SUV dead after the accident. The driver of the tractor-trailer was unhurt in the accident.

According to Google Maps, Old Georgetown Road winds north and south through Williamsburg County, which is about 95 miles southeast of Columbia.

State and local agencies responded to the scene of the accident.
