Details:
On or about Tuesday, June 29th, 2021, around 2:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian left one person dead. Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported in the 2300 block of Rickenbacker Parkway in Columbus, Ohio.
Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when they were allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer as they were walking down or trying to cross the lanes of the Rickenbacker Parkway. Emergency responders pronounced the victim dead a short time after the accident, but it is not clear if they died at the scene or if they succumbed to their injuries a short time after they were taken to the hospital.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident on Rickenbacker Parkway is not far from the intersection with Alum Creek Drive on the south side of Columbus.
Multiple agencies are investigating the accident.
