Details:
On or about Friday, November 5th, 2021, around 11:33 in the morning, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer left an 80-year-old Venice woman dead. Officials from the FHP said the accident was reported along Rockley Boulevard near the intersection with Montrose Drive in Sarasota County, Florida.
Authorities from the area said an as-of-yet unidentified 80-year-old woman was killed when her car allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer that was stopped or parked to make a delivery on Rockley Boulevard. Emergency responders rushed the woman to Doctor’s Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after her arrival. The driver of the tractor-trailer was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance south of downtown Sarasota.
Officials are still investigating the incident.
