Details:
On or about Thursday, October 28th, 2021, around 5:30 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a cyclist left one individual dead. Officials from the NYSP said the accident was reported along Route 19 in Wellsville, New York.
Troopers from the New York State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified cyclist was killed when they were allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer as they were riding their bike near or across Route 19. Paramedics pronounced the cyclist dead after the accident, but officials did not specify if they died at the scene, or if they were taken to a nearby hospital where they died of their injuries a short time after their arrival.
According to Google Maps, Route 19 runs north and south through Wellsville, which is about 95 miles south of downtown Rochester.
Police said the conditions were foggy at the time of the accident.
