On or about Tuesday, January 25th, 2022, around 6:40 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Investigators from the VSP said the accident was reported along Route 29 near the exchange with Granny’s Lane in Campbell County, Virginia.
Troopers from the Virginia State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the passenger vehicle they were in and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances along Route 29. Emergency responders pronounced one person in the passenger vehicle dead of their injuries a short time after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if they died at the scene or after being rushed to a nearby hospital.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 20 miles south of Lynchburg.
Multiple agencies are investigating the incident.
