On or about Thursday, January 20th, 2022, around 2:15 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian claimed the life of a 77-year-old man. Troopers from the MSP said the accident was reported along Route 3 near Exit 84 in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.
Officers from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified 77-year-old man was killed when he was allegedly struck bya tractor-trailer as he was walking in or near the breakdown lane of Route 3. Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the accident.
According to Google Maps, Route 3 runs north and south in Chelmsford, which is roughly 30 miles northwest of downtown Boston.
Police are still investigating the accident.
