On or about Thursday, February 10th, 2022, sometime in the afternoon hours, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left one person dead. Authorities from the area said the accident was reported at the intersection of State Route 46 and Merkel Road in Batesville, Indiana.
Representatives from the Indiana State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle collided under unspecified circumstances. Paramedics pronounced one person dead of their injuries after the accident, but it is not clear if they died at the scene or if they were taken to the hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
