On or about Wednesday, March 9th, 2022, around 6:30 in the morning, a serious accident between a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer left one person dead. Troopers from the SCHP said the accident was reported along Highway 9 just outside Spartanburg in Union County, South Carolina.
Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the car they were driving allegedly failed to yield when it turned into the path of a tractor-trailer on Highway 9 near Kelly Road. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the passenger vehicle dead of their injuries after the collision.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance outside of Spartanburg’s city limits.
