On or about Monday, August 30th, 2021, around 10:00 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an 18-wheeler left one person dead. Authorities from the USP said the accident was reported along SR 201 in West Valley City, Utah.
Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when the 18-wheeler they were driving allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer that had been reported to police as traveling extremely slowly in the roadway. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the rear tractor-trailer dead a short time after they responded to the scene of the collision.
According to Google Maps, West Valley City is situated about 10 miles southwest of downtown Salt Lake City.
Police are still investigating the incident.
