On or about Friday, December 18th, 2020, around 6:10 in the morning, an accident between a car and an 18-wheeler left a 49-year-old man from Umatilla dead. Troopers from the FHP said the accident happened along SR 326 near Highway 441 in Marion County, Florida.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said a 49-year-old man was killed when his car was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer that had turned across the eastbound lanes of traffic. Emergency responders pronounced the victim dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. Two people in the tractor-trailer were unhurt in the collision.
Google Maps shows Marion County is located about 87 miles northeast of Orlando.
State and local law enforcement are still investigating the crash.
