Details:
On or about Tuesday, December 14th, 2021, around 6:00 in the evening, a major accident between a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck claimed the life of a 74-year-old man and injured one person. Troopers from the FHP said the accident was reported along State Road 20 in Calhoun County, Florida.
Spokespeople from the Florida Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified 74-year-old man was killed and an 80-year-old man was injured when the pickup truck they were in was allegedly struck head-on by a tractor-trailer that crossed over the center line of the roadway. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the pickup truck dead of their injuries at the scene of the accident. The 80-year-old passenger was treated for unspecified injuries after the accident.
According to Google Maps, State Road 20 cuts east and west through Calhoun County, which is about 71 miles west of Tallahassee.
Police are still looking into the incident.
