Details:
On or about Saturday, July 17th, 2021, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left one man dead. Troopers from the FHP said the accident occurred on the Florida Turnpike near the exchange with Quail Roost Road in Miami, Florida.
Florida Highway Patrol officials said one as-of-yet unidentified pedestrian was killed when he was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer after exiting a vehicle following a previous single-vehicle accident. Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead of his injuries after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if the pedestrian died at the scene or after being rushed to a nearby hospital.
According to Google Maps, the Florida Turnpike runs north and south through Miami, with the exchange of Quail Roost Road situated on the southwest side of town.
Deputies from the Miami Dade County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene of the accident.
